3 Types of Instagram Posts You Need to Sign More Clients

When it comes to your business Instagram, you know you should be posting more.

But you find yourself behind on your content and feel guilty that you haven’t posted in a while.

Next thing you know, it’s been sooo freaking long that it feels weird to randomly post again.

At that point, you’re just plain STRESSSED. 😬

If you’re like most business owners, your content plan can probably be described as inconsistent at best.

Sometimes you ghost your socials, and sometimes you post, and it will randomly do well. Like that one time you posted your dog and got a TON of engagement.

But as much as you love little Fido, the truth is he’s not exactly going to be bringing in sales any time soon. (Sorry, Fido 🤷🏻‍♀️)

The real problem: You don’t have a strategy.

You’re posting whenever you remember to, crossing your fingers that something hits, and you have no idea what’s actually going to get you clients.

Here’s the good news: An Instagram content strategy doesn’t have to be complicated.

In my program Magic Marketing Machine, I teach a simple strategy that helps business owners go from posting randomly to posting strategically, so every post has a purpose.

And it all starts with 3 types of Instagram posts.

Let’s break down exactly what they are.

3 Types of Social Media Content You NEED to Create

There are 3 types of content that you need to have on Instagram in order to consistently grow your business AND consistently get clients (aka the whole reason you have a business Instagram to begin with!).

So, what are they?

Growth. Nurture. Sales.

In my program, Magic Marketing Machine, I help my members get ✨ fancy ✨ and create a professional content strategy prioritizing these 3 types of social media content.

Let’s talk about them.

Growth Content

The first is growth content.

You want views and followers? You need eyeballs on your content first. 👀👀

Growth content is designed to do exactly that – get new eyeballs on your content that eventually you’ll sell to.

This is usually fun and quick.

Think reels, quick tips, or posts that say, “Hey, Ideal Client! Look at me!! I’m interesting!!”

This is the type of social media content that grabs your ideal client’s attention.

It gets them to stop scrolling and start following, so you can then connect and nurture them.

Inside Magic Marketing Machine, I’ll also have members do a two-week “growth spurt.” This is when you post ONLY growth content for two weeks straight.

Members follow our growth prompts and tactics and try a whole bunch of new ways to attract their perfect client and GET THOSE EYEBALLS!

After the growth spurt, I’ve had members report seeing anywhere from a 500% to 4000% increase in reach. 🤯

Bonus? Growth Spurts are a fast way to shake off perfectionism.

You get to play with formats, test what works for your brand, and stop overthinking every post.
Sometimes the best strategy really is to just… hit post already!

Nurture Content

The second type of content for social media you need to be writing is nurture content.

This is the stuff that makes people fall in love with you. ❤️

It’s content that builds trust with your followers, shows you’re an expert, and proves that you know what you’re talking about.

Most importantly, nurture posts are the type of content that showcases that you understand the struggles your ideal clients face. It builds massive trust between you.

You know what they’re going through, and you have a freaking AMAXINZG solution.

If your nurture content gets someone commenting –

“OMG I’ve never looked at it this way!”

or “It’s like you’re seeing into my soul.”

Then you know you’re doing nurture right. 🙌🏻

Sales Content

You’ve already shown that you have the solution to your ideal client’s problems, so what comes next?

SALES.

Sales content is the stuff that actually gets people to take action. It leads directly to things like your discovery call scheduler or an inquiry form to work with you.

It’s the final step that leads your ideal client to finally say, “YES! Let’s do this thing!”

If your sales content gets viewers to take the action you want (like book a discovery call, or head to your website and click BUY), then it’s done its job.

Just keep this one thing in mind…

Your sales content is less likely to get the kind of engagement your growth or nurture content gets.

So, if your sales posts aren’t getting the likes, saves, or shares that you’re used to… DON’T PANIC!

Sales posts just aren’t the type of thing people are sharing on their stories or group chat.

It’s always going to have lower engagement.

And that’s okay!

So, if a post doesn’t blow up but does bring in sales?

That’s a win. Every single time. 🥳

Why EXACTLY are These 3 Types of Posts so Important?

When you’re posting with these 3 types of social media content in mind, your Instagram stops feeling chaotic.

Your grid becomes SUPER strategic.

Every post has a job.

Everything feels predictable.

And you always know what you need to post.

But when even one piece is missing? The whole thing starts to wobble…

✅ Growth ✅ Sales ❌ Nurture

If you have growth content and sales content, but you skipped over nurture, your audience will be growing BUT…

Your new followers won’t convert to clients.

You haven’t built up enough of a relationship yet.

I see this all the time with people who join Magic Marketing Machine who have massive accounts, especially on TikTok.

But when they pitch their offer?

Crickets 🦗 🦗 🦗

Their strategy is missing one key step: BUILDING TRUST.

So, you’re consistently growing and keep pitching your offer… but the sales just aren’t happening. Now you’re left sitting there screaming, “What’s happening?!” into the void.

But if you add in that missing ingredient and start nurturing your clients?

You start building trust and warming people up.

You start really connecting with your audience and then…

BOOM! The sales start pouring in naturally.

✅ Nurture ✅ Sales ❌ Growth

Next, if you have nurture and sales, but you don’t have growth, chances are you’ve seen a few sales from your social media content.

You’ve done the work, built the trust, and formed ALL the relationships.

But now, your biggest problem is that your audience isn’t growing.

You’re selling to the same pool of people over and over again, and eventually, that pool will dry up.

Once you start posting growth social media content, you open the doors to let new people in.

That means fresh eyeballs hitting your page every week.

Then those new followers start consuming your nurture content, and down the line, your sales content too.

Now, clients start rolling in consistently as new followers find you. 💃

✅ Growth ✅ Nurture ❌ Sales

Now, if you have growth content and nurture content, but no sales

People could be LOVING your content, but they will never actually take the leap and buy from you.

If this pattern sounds familiar, chances are there’s something holding you back.

Maybe you think selling feels icky.

Maybe pushing your offer feels uncomfortable.

Or maybe you’re scared of annoying your audience.

But without posting sales content – without that clear CTA (Call To Action) that leads people to your service – followers won’t turn into clients.

But once you start adding sales to the types of social media content you post, everything changes.

The entire system starts working together.

Your growth content brings people to you.

Your nurture content gets them to trust your expertise.

Your sales content leads them to that discovery call link in your profile…

Even the sales call itself becomes easier and more likely to convert! Because you’ve been nurturing them through your content, it feels less like a pitch and more like chatting with someone who already gets you.

All you need to do is answer a few last questions, because your Instagram content has been doing the heavy lifting. 💁‍♀️

Why Instagram Rewards the Growth + Nurture + Sales Strategy

You need growth, nurture, and sales TOGETHER to attract new people, build trust, and turn followers into clients.

And yes – you can use this strategy on other platforms.

In fact, I ENCOURAGE you to go out and experiment with it anywhere you have a social media presence.

But after working with and consulting on hundreds of social media accounts, I’ve found the growth, nurture, sales framework really shines on Instagram.

Here’s why the ‘gram is the best platform for this strategy. 👇🏻

Instagram is a place to nurture real connection.

Other platforms like TikTok can be incredible for growth.

One viral video and BAM! Things take off fast.

But when it comes to nurturing, Instagram does it better. 💁‍♀️

On Instagram, I can share nurturing content – like FAQ posts or carousels that answer questions, position myself as an expert, and build trust – and they’ll get shown to people who already follow and engage with me.

With many other platforms, sales and nurturing types of content tend to just fall flat or worse, never get shown.

➡️ Side note – This is exactly why I use other platforms to drive growth but bring people back to Instagram to actually nurture and sell.

It works so well, I added a full lesson on it inside Magic Marketing Machine. It includes a whole list of ways you can use other platforms to contribute to your Instagram marketing strategy.

Instagram gives you direct messaging

Would you buy a product or service that you had a ton of questions about?

Probably not, right?

You’d want to be able to talk directly with someone and get your questions answered.

Thankfully, Instagram’s DM system is built for conversations just like this. 🙌🏻

If someone sees your offer and wonders, “Will this work for my business?”

They can just message you with voice notes, photos, or links – anything to really show you what they need.

DMs are instant, easy, and (this is key) you don’t need to be followers to message each other.

Meta has invested heavily in their messaging system – and it shows.

Better messaging abilities = better relationship building.

Stronger relationships = more conversions and higher sales.

Instagram is built for sales momentum.

Here’s what you need to remember when you’re selling your offer: even when people know something is valuable, they’ll hesitate.

They’ll find every reason to wait. It’s too expensive, the timing’s off, they’re not sure they can commit.

That’s why you need to create urgency and give them a reason to act NOW.

Think deadlines, limited-time bonuses, or promotions.

On Instagram, you can do a big ol’ sales blitz – choose a short period of time and just push sales content about your offer around the clock.

  • Post about it.
  • Talk about it in your stories.
  • Show up in lives and answer questions in real time.

(we also show you exactly what to post during a sales blitz inside Magic Marketing Machine)

By the time that deadline comes, your audience will be BUZZING with excitement and enthusiasm.

And they’ll be warmed up and ready to buy.

In my experience, this is where Instagram outperforms other platforms.

Instagram makes it so easy to create momentum leading up to a big deadline or launch.

And that momentum is what turns interest into action.

If posting on Instagram feels hard or confusing, it usually comes down to one thing.

There’s no strategy guiding the things you share.

Running blindfolded into content planning will only add to the chaos – not the growth.

But when you’re posting with Growth, Nurture, and Sales in mind and ON PURPOSE, everything clicks.

By narrowing it down and posting just these 3 types of social media content, you can FINALLY breathe a sigh of relief.

You know what to post.

You know why you’re posting it.

And you know it’s actually moving people toward buying. 🙌🏻
